It was very tastefully decorated, had all the amenities (even a welcome breakfast basket!), and was close to the trails. I really liked the little attention to detail - matching towels down to the dog treats! I would love to stay here again! It was also very easy to get to and Steve was very helpful and responsive."

"The hideaway is truly a hidden gem surrounded by endless trees. My boyfriend and I could have not felt more at home when we arrived. A cozy and romantic cabin for two made this weekend unforgettable. What attracted me the most to this listing and noticed right away was all the finishes, furniture and interesting architectural elements that was put into this humble abode. The loft at the top is the coolest part of the house, a comfy day bed, tv & dvds, AMAZING books and an amazing view into the wilderness. This is the kind of place you want to just unwind and be away from the world. It was nice taking the dog out and just hearing nature. I will definitely be making another trip to Lost City in the future and hope to stay at the Hideaway again."

"The Hideaway is just two hours from DC, but worlds away from the energy and pace of the city. We came to Lost River looking for a place to unwind, and found precisely what we were seeking (and so much more!). Steve and Truman considered every detail when putting the Hideaway together: it has all the comforts of home, and is among the most tastefully decorated rentals we have experienced. We loved lounging on the loft daybed, cooking in the well-stocked kitchen, and taking in the serenity of the woods from our perch on the deck. The Hideaway is clearly a place that Steve and Truman intend to use as their own private respite, and guests of the Hideaway are treated to the same level of amenity that they have prepared for themselves.
